Grace College School Of Education Receives NCATE Accreditation
WINONA LAKE — The Grace College School of Education has received continuing accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, the organization responsible for professional accreditation of teacher education. NCATE accreditation signifies that the School of Education passed rigorous external review by education professionals and they are operating at a high level of quality and integrity.
Dr. Laurie Owen, dean of the school of education, said “We are delighted to receive renewed accreditation from NCATE. It validates our relevancy and quality of programs, and demonstrates that our students are well-prepared in content and pedagogical practice.”
Due to consolidation of NCATE and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council into the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, Grace College School of Education has begun preparing to meet new CAEP standards. The school’s NCATE accreditation will be in effect until spring of 2022, when the next accreditation visit using the CAEP standards is scheduled.
Owen continued, “The school of education is deeply grateful to our local P-12 school partners, especially teachers and administrators in the Warsaw Community School District and the Smith Academy for Excellence. We sincerely value their partnerships as well as the support of Grace College administration, faculty and staff.”
