O. Joan Rule, 90, North Manchester, died at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at The Heritage of Fort Wayne.
She was born in Larwill on Nov. 19, 1924, to Herman Ray and Grace (Metzger) Fultz, both deceased. She was a homemaker and worked at Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, for sixteen years. She retired in 1988. She married Junior W. Rule on Dec. 12, 1943. He died April 6, 2004. She graduated from Sidney High School class of 1942. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She is survived by her son: Jim (Trudy) Rule, North Manchester; daughter: Joyce (Jery) Nelson, Fort Wayne; sister: Arloene Metzger, North Manchester; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one son: Jerry Rule, who died in 2010; and one great-grandchild.
Calling will be from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, and will be officiated by Dr. David Biberstein. Burial will be at Ulrey Memorial Cemetery, Silver Lake. Memorials can be made to Eel River Community Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake.
