Barbara Jean Moore-CaskeyBarbara Jean Moore-Caskey, 70, Columbia City, passed away at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at Miller’s at Oak Pointe, Columbia City. Born March 11, 1945, in Smithers, W.Va., she was the daughter of Grover C. and Imogene J. (Myers) Crowder.

She lived in West Virginia for ten years and then in Ligonier for 35 years before moving to Columbia City in 2008. Barb worked at Homecrest in Goshen for 18 years, retiring in 1998 as a machine operator and group leader. She also worked at Essex in Ligonier for eight years and at Lyall Electric in Cromwell for four years.

She is survived by her mother: Imogene Crowder, Columbia City; brothers: Walter (Joy) Crowder, Columbia City; and Gary (Karen) Crowder, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister: Ilene (Ron) Swank, White Pigeon, Mich.; son: Wallace (Rebecca) Caskey, Avilla; grandchildren: Sarah Caskey; Crystal; Amanda Rummel; and Erich Hansen; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father: Grover Crowder; and daughter; Sara Kay Caskey.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Penwell officiating. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery. With her love for Christmas, memorial gifts may be given in her memory to Patrolling for Presents.
