Stephen R. Phillips, 25, Syracuse, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 7, 2015, after a lifelong illness.

He was born April 15, 1990 in Goshen.

Stephen is survived by his mother, Dee Ann (Daniel Cole, fiancé) White, Syracuse; a brother, Logan Phillips, Syracuse; grandfather, Dale Neff, Syracuse; aunt, Karla (Acel) McDonald, Indianapolis; and uncle, Jeffery (Michelle) Krueger, Milford.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dolores Neff.

Despite Stephen’s physical condition, he had a high level of mechanical and mathematical intelligence. He enjoyed disassembling and reassembling electronics and completing intricate Lego projects. Until recently, he also enjoyed the outdoors, including canoeing.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, and from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

A procession will leave Yoder-Culp at 2 p.m. Tuesday to go to Rock Run Cemetery for a 2:30 graveside service. Pastor David Cripe, New Hope Free Will Baptist Church will officiate.
