Rowena Greer, 90, North Manchester, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at her residence.
She was born in Ijamsville, to Raymond and Bertha (Anderson) Clark, and was a secretary at Peabody Seating Company, North Manchester, for several years. She married Donald E. Greer on Sept. 19, 1942. He died Dec. 22, 2002. Attended Laketon High School. She was also a volunteer manager of the Fellowship of Churches food pantry in North Manchester for 15 years. She worked at Oppenheim’s Clothing store part time for many years. She enjoyed fishing, needle work, gardening, and quilting.
Rowena is survived by her son: Wayne (Charlene) Greer, Fort Wayne; daughters: Janice L. (Daniel) Perry, Winona Lake; Beverly J. (Gary) Miller, Ligonier; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Cheryl Ann Greer, in 1973, five brothers; and five sisters.
She was a member of West Manchester Church of the Brethren, in North Manchester, and attended the North Manchester United Methodist Church for several years.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at United Methodist Church, North Manchester, officiated by Pastor Mark Eastway. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
