Charles R. Engle
Charles R. Engle, 73, North Manchester, and formerly of Beaver Dam Lake, died at 3:48 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
He was born in Kosciusko County on Aug. 15, 1942, to Amos and Minnie (McCloughan) Engle, both deceased. He married Cozzette Baker on Aug. 6, 1972. She died April 1, 1998. He retired in 1989 as a USDA meat inspector.
He graduated from Beaver Dam High School. He was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Warsaw. Prior to his employment with the USDA, he was a truck driver for Hartzler Trucking and was employed at Strauss Veal, North Manchester. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He and his wife wintered in Texas for many years. He also loved being with people.
Charles is survived by a daughter: Amy (Harold) Dellenbach, Lewis Center, Ohio; sister-in-law: Margaret (Bev) Warford, Wabash; grandchildren: Sherman Jane Dellenbach; Jace Landon Dellenbach. He is predeceased by one sister.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, Nov. 7, with the memorial service beginning at noon at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and will be officiated by Pastor J.P. Freeman. Burial will be at a later date.
