Caroline L. Elliott, 89, Westmoreland, Tenn., formerly of Bremen, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2015, in Portland, Tenn.
Caroline was born on Feb. 12, 1926, the daughter of the late August and Johanna (Wellhauser) Hausser.
She is survived by two sons: Larry (Deb) Penrose, Bremen; and Terry Penrose, Westmoreland, Tenn.; five grandchildren: Bryan Penrose, Wakarusa; Brandy (Rob) Bellman, Bremen; Brett (Mindy) Penrose, Plymouth; Kate Young, Springfield, Tenn.; and Jacob Penrose, Mankato, Min.; and four great-greandchildren: Nola Penrose; Brynlee Penrose; Ciara Bellman; and Emmie Bellman. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Caroline was a 1943 graduate of Bremen High School. She worked for many years as a teller in the former Bremen State Bank, which is now First Source. She retired in Dec. 31, 1987, after serving at the bank for 44 years.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, in the funeral home. Rev. Bob Lengerich will officiate. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to St. Dominic Catholic Church or Community Hospital of Bremen.
