MILFORD — The following activities are planned for Milford Public Library:

Adult Craft Night

Local crafter, Kelly Engle, will demonstrate how to make a beautiful fall wreath for November adult craft night. Crafting begins at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 9, which is earlier than usual, so please note the time change. A wreath is on display at the adult circulation desk, where you can sign up for the craft. The cost is $12, payable at time of registration. Please sign up by 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, so we can have enough materials for everyone. The wreath is made from burlap ribbons in fall colors. Make it a fun girl’s night and sign up with a friend. Anyone age 18 and up is invited to join us. Sign up today!

Closed for In-Service

The Milford Public Library will be closing early at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, for a staff in-service. We apologize for any inconvenience this creates but there are drop boxes located on the south end of our building to return any materials after hours. If you need anything on Tuesday, Nov. 10, come in before we close or come by the next day. We will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Fall Storytime

Join staff for fall story time this week at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, or at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, as we read about squirrels and nuts. Listen to staff read “The Busy Little Squirrel” by Nancy Tafuri and “Ol’ Mama Squirrel” by David Ezra Stein After listening to stories about squirrels, we get to design a scratch off squirrel craft. After craft time, enjoy some squirrel snack mix with sunflower seeds, dried fruit, and nuts. See you there!

Lego Crew

Lego Crew is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 14. On the second Saturday of each month, we get together and let our imaginations run wild. This program is for children age 5 and up. We provide the Legos, you provide your creativity and imagination. Call us if you have any questions at (574) 658-4312.

Recent eBook Purchases

Every quarter we add some new eBook titles to our OverDrive collection. The following are some of the titles we have added in October: “Your Next Breath” by Iris Johansen; “Vanishing Girls” by Lauren Oliver; “Rogue Lawyer” by John Grisham; “The Martian: A Novel” by Andy Weir; “The Girl in the Spider’s Web: A Lisbeth Salander Novel”, “Continuing Stieg Larsson’s Milennium Series” by David Lagercrantz and “Paper Towns” by John Green. If you have suggestions for eBook titles you would like the library to purchase, please place a hold on that title in OverDrive and we will purchase the eBook.
