MILFORD — Upcoming events at Milford Public Library:

Friends Meeting

Join the Friends at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, in the Milford Public Library meeting room as they finalize details about their book and bake sale on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 20-21. Come and join them.

Fall Storytime

Join staff this week for fall story time at either 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, or at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, as we talk about scarecrows and pumpkins. Listen to staff read “Piggies in the Pumpkin Patch” by Mary Peterson and Jennifer Rofé and “Shoo, Crow! Shoo!” by Dana Meachen Rau.

After listening to stories, we will make a paper plate scarecrow craft. When our scarecrow craft is done, get ready to sit down and enjoy a haystack cookie made of peanut butter, butterscotch chips, peanuts and chow mein noodles. In addition to our haystack cookies, we get to eat some pumpkin dip and nilla wafers.

Knitting Club

Knitting Club meets from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, in the teen area of the library. Bring a knitting project and get help from experienced knitters. Learn how to knit or continue working on a current project.

Closed For Inservice

The Milford Public Library will be closing early at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, for a staff in-service. We apologize for any inconvenience this creates but there are drop boxes located on the south end of our building to return any materials after hours. If you need anything on Tuesday, Nov. 10, come in before we close or come by the next day. We will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Freegal

Have you tried Freegal? Milford Public Library patrons can use their library card number and pin, and download free music. You can download up to five free songs every week – that’s 260 free songs a year. There are thousands of songs, ranging from today’s hits, classical music, rock, country, oldies, and so much more.

Try it out today, by clicking the link on the Milford Public Library homepage. Or, if you have questions, come in and ask! We’d love to help you download some sweet tunes.
