NAPPANEE — Upcoming events at Nappanee Public Library include the following:
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book Release
“Old School” is the next book in the hit series, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, and hits bookshelves Nov. 3. The Nappanee Library is throwing a book birthday party to celebrate. Fans of the hilarious chapter books, illustrating the challenges of school life, will enjoy games, activities, and, of course, birthday cake, on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Ages seven through twelve are invited, and participants will be registered to win a copy of the new book.
Pinterest Night
Make a no-sew Christmas tree skirt at the next Pinterest Night at the Nappanee Library. Crafters will meet in the Cube, the Library’s makerspace, from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11. All materials will be provided to make one tree skirt for a cost of $5.
All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pinterest Night is designed as a collaborative, learn-as-you-make program where participants share ideas and tips to complete popular projects found on Pinterest, the virtual bulletin board and Internet hub for bookmarking lifestyle links and images.
Call (574) 773-7919 to register, or click on the events calendar at www.nappaneelibrary.org.
Invention Workshop for Kids
Kids in third through fifth grade are invited to try their hand at several Makey Makey invention kits in a newly-created monthly program at the Nappanee Public Library from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10. Turn everyday objects into touchpads and combine them with the Internet for exciting results. This program is great for curious kids who are interested in art, music, engineering and everything in between! The workshops will be held on the second Wednesday of each month.
