FORT WAYNE — In partnership with the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir, Heartland Sings is working with students in an intensive vocal workshop over two days to inspire young singers to reach their full potential. The “Three Rivers Young Singer Choral Festival” will be held at IPFW’s Rhinehart Music Center Nov. 13 and 14.

The participants include the Youth Chorale of the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir, choirs from Bluffton High School, Concordia Lutheran High School, New Haven High School and North Side High School as well as the IPFW University Singers and Heartland’s Chorale.

The “Three Rivers Young Singer Choral Festival” culminates in a festive “en masse” choral extravaganza under the direction of internationally recognized guest conductor, Henry Leck, Founder and Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir at 4 p.m. Nov. 14. Each choir will perform separately then, the combined choir of over 300 voices will all take to the stage to sing works by Eric Whitacre and Franz Josef Haydn. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear the voices of our next generation of singers.

The concert will be in Auer Performance Hall at IPFW’s Rhinehart Music Center, 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd., Fort Wayne. For ticket information, contact the IPFW Ticket Office, (260) 481-6555.
