WARSAW — New playground equipment was recently installed at Richardson Dubois Park, East Market Street, Warsaw.

The playground offers a variety of swing set, turning and chinning bar, fun wheel, sway net, pod climber, snake poke, slide, rock challenge wall and numerous other pieces of equipment and fibar with fibar-felt ground cover. The entire area will be 68 feet, 4 inches by 56 feet by 1- inch or 3,795 square feet.

The equipment replaces a spiral slide which was installed in 1973 and other equipment installed in the late 1960s or early 1970s. The slide had four priority safety hazards with no parts available for updating or making it compliant.

The Warsaw Park and Recreation Board approved the purchase at it’s May meeting. The new equipment, manufactured by Little Tikes, costs approximately $29,977.06.

Many adults and children in the neighborhood have been observed utilizing the new equipment.
