Larry Lee Olmstead
Larry Lee Olmstead, 85, of Wabash, died at 6:19 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Columbia City, to Ralph and Helen (Featheringill) Olmstead. He married Carol L. Smith in Rochester, on Oct. 13, 1957; she died Feb. 7, 2010.
Larry was a resident of Wabash County since 1935 and had lived in Wabash since 1949. He retired in 1993 after 39 years employment at Diehl Machines in Wabash. He was a US Air Force veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his two children: Elizabeth A. “Beth” Olmstead, Cinnaminson, N.J.; David R. (Stacey) Olmstead, Brownsburg; three grandchildren: Joseph D. Olmstead, Dayton, Ohio; Reilly E. Olmstead and Victoria G. Olmstead, both of Brownsburg; and his two sisters: Beverly Fordyce and Rhea Wilcox, both of Wabash.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Denny Olmstead.
At Larry’s request, there will be no services and his body will be cremated. Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Home is entrusted with the services.
