Kids Take To Warsaw XC Course

WARSAW – On a nearly perfect October afternoon, the Warsaw Community High School cross country teams hosted the third-annual Elementary XC Mile at WCHS. While the total number of runners was small, the racing was huge as multiple grade level records were set. In all, 33 girls and 25 boys raced through the woods and over the hills of the WCHS cross country course with the following finishers earning top-five medals:

Girls (3rd-4th):
5th: Ruth Heckaman  7:44
4th: Ella Elias    7:34
3rd: Astonia Smith   7:34
2nd: Eliza VanderBie   7:06
1st: Mak Kolvoord   6:13* NEW 3rd grade record (2nd fastest time overall)!

Girls (5th-6th):
5th: Mikayla Mimnaugh    6:38
4th: Erika Bugg    6:36
3rd: Emily Bugg   6:28
2nd: Wini Barnett   6:24*  NEW 6th grade record
1st: Rylee Burns    6:12* NEW 5th grade and overall record!

Boys (3rd-4th):
5th: Kale Hepler   7:24
4th: Rick Orr   7:24
3rd: Josiah Rice   7:20
2nd: Oliver Nisen   7:10
1st: Tyler Mimnaugh  6:34* NEW 3rd grade record!

Boys (5th-6th):
5th: David Howard   6:44
