Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Department investigated the following accident:

11:44 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, North SR 15 and West CR 600N, Leesburg. Drivers: Jacquelynn J. Smith, 69, Oldfield Drive, Leesburg, and Connor H. Palmer, 20, West CR 200N, Columbia City. Smith failed to hit a gas pedal and struck  into Palmer. Damage: up to $10,000

5:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, East Armstrong Road, west of North CR 200E, Leesburg. Driver: Jordan S. Mills, 23, Fisher Avenue, Warsaw. Mills was traveling west on Armstrong Road when a vehicle traveling the opposite direction entered his lane causing him to swerve to avoid a collision. Hills then struck a hill in a ditch which caused him to roll over. Hills was uninjured. Damage: $10,000

4:44 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, West CR 300N, south of North CR 200W, Warsaw. Driver: Scott M. Whitehead, 41 Wyncrest Circle, Elkhart. Driver struck a deer. Damage: up to $10,000.

8:01 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, South SR 19 and West CR 500S, Mentone. Driver: Henry C. Smith, 44, North SR 19, Akron. Driver struck a deer. Damage: $2,500.

7:11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2801 W. Old Road 30. Drivers: Barbara L. Kania, 19, North Heckathorn Drive, North Manchester, and Leela D. Farmer, 62, 755 S. Warbler Lane, Warsaw. Heckathorn backed into Farmer’s vehicle in a parking lot. Damage: up to $2,500.
