Syracuse Town HallSYRACUSE — The regular meeting of the Syracuse Board of Zoning Appeals was Thursday evening, Oct. 15. Two businesses, Pizza Hut and McDonald’s, were granted exceptions for drive-thru lanes.

Freeland Realty’s petition for an exception was approved as presented. The business, Pizza Hut, wants to allow the existing drive-thru lane to be re-configured through a new project. It is proposing a new restaurant and will be slightly altering the drive-thru.

The property is located at 1112 S. Huntington St.

David Call’s petition for an exception was approved as requested. Call’s business, McDonald’s, is adding a second drive-thru lane and re-configuring the existing drive thru lane. The property is located at 902 S. Huntington St.

Joseph Martin’s petition for a variance was approved as requested. He wants to allow a 10-foot addition to a storage unit at 6 feet from the rear/south property line, where the ordinance requires 20 feet. The property is located at 101 N. Acorn St., Unit A.

Gary Smith’s petition for a variance was granted. He wants to allow a residence accessory (a shed) to be constructed at 13 feet from an easterly right of way and 10 feet from a northerly right of way. The property is located at 119 N. Lake St.

There were no remonstrators.

The next meeting is at 6 p.m. Nov. 19, at Syracuse Town Hall.
