Carroll Slows Down Warsaw Spikers
WARSAW – Fort Wayne Carroll came out gangbusters Wednesday, defeating Warsaw in volleyball action, 3-0, at the Tiger Den. Carroll, ranked No. 4 in Class 4-A, won by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.
Warsaw had its usual suspects leading its charge on the court. Cassie Hoag had 26 assists and two aces, Peyton Adamiec dug 13 attempts, Lina Mayer registered 13 kills and Jordyn Lindeman blocked four tries. Lexie Day added six kills for the Tigers, which drop to 21-8 overall.
Carroll moves to 10-0 in true road games this season and are 28-2 overall.
The Warsaw JV had success against Carroll, beating the visitors 25-19, 25-15 to move to 20-1 on the season.
Alicia Sikora had 13 assists and Nikki Parrett rammed home seven kills to lead the Tigers. Erin Peugh had 10 digs, Hanna Leach added two blocks and Amy Herendeen and Abby Serbousek each had two aces. Kacey Bragg added four digs and three kills.
Warsaw’s varsity will hold its Warsaw Spiker Invite this Saturday while the JV will travel to Elkhart Memorial Saturday morning to take part in the Charger JV Invite.
