Samuel Burton MeredithSamuel Burton Meredith Sr., 68, Columbia City, passed away at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at his home in Columbia City.

Mr. Meredith was born on March 20, 1947, in Fort Wayne. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, and graduated from Central High School. On April 21, 2006 he was married in Plant City, Fla. to Nancy Kuhner.

He was employed as a Truck Driver for over 34 years. Mr. Meredith was attended Christ Community Church. Sam enjoyed fishing, hunting, and Nascar. He loved driving truck, but most of all spending time with his family.

Surviving relatives include wife: Nancy Meredith, Columbia City; mother: Nan (Skipper) Meredith, Fla.; three children: Samuel Meredith Jr., Fort Wayne; Cherri (Michael) Adams, Huntertown; and Lisa Knowlton, Fla.; one brother Tommy (Tammy) Meredith, Fort Wayne; sisters: Sandy Jackson; Billy Ann (Dave) Chappell, both of Fla.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father: William Meredith.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.
