MILFORD — The early morning fire on Thursday, Oct. 8, downtown Milford, has closed one business and temporarily closed another.

Damage to The Turf Bar, 118 S. Main St., has been estimated a total loss, closing the long-time Main Street Establishment. Neighboring business, California Desert, has also been closed, by the county health department, due to smoke damage from the fire. Other businesses on the east side of Main Street reported smoke damage to Milford Fire Chief Todd Haines, except Jenkins Automotive, Whetten’s Pizza and T-Zone.

Haines stated the cause has been determined as something in a trash can in the bar area. What exactly started that fire is unknown.

According to the Kosciusko County website, The Turf Bar building is owned by Stephen Hurst.
