Jean Ann Rouch, 85, of Fulton, passed away early Saturday morning shortly after arrival to Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.

Born in Peru Dec. 29, 1929, Jean Ann Miller was the cherished daughter of Ward and Elva Cooke Miller. Jean Ann spent her childhood in Peru. With great Tiger pride graduated from Peru High School in 1947. After high school she continued her education at Butler University.

In Peru, on June 15, 1957, Jean Ann married her best friend Mr. Leroy “Dutch” Rouch. Together they shared over 56 years of life’s adventures. From their union came two wonderful sons. Tragically they passed on before, Craig in 2001 and Brian in 2009. Four wonderful grandchildren complete the family tree with Brandon, Laynie, Abigail and Lindsey.

Shortly after their marriage Dutch and Jean Ann built and settled into their home near rural Fulton. On the farm, Dutch and Jean Ann oversaw the breeding and production of a fine herd of 60 sows. Stepping in to the political arena, Jean Ann served Fulton County as our Treasurer. Passionate about public service she also served Fulton County with the Purdue Extension office and worked a stint with Plummer’s CPA preparing taxes.

Paramount in her life was her four loving grandchildren. Grandma Jean Ann was always there for them with her unending love and support.

Left to cherish Jean Ann’s memories are 3 granddaughters: Lindsey Nicole Rouch, Rochester, Laynie Mishay Rouch, San Francisco, Abigail Kaylee Rouch of Ft. Wayne; a grandson, Brandon Jay Rouch of Las Vegas; cousins Susan M. Saydah of Santa Rosa, Calif., and John D. Cooke of Indianapolis; 2 sister-in-laws: Arvella Sutton and husband Jim of Fulton, and Betty Rouch of Ft. Wayne.

Preceding Jean Ann in death are her parents, her husband Dutch on May 4, 2014, her sons Craig Rouch on May 7, 2001, and Brian Rouch on May 14, 2009 and her brother-in-law Marvin Rouch July 19, 2011.

A service celebrating the life of Jean Ann Rouch will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th St., Rochester. Pastor Bruce Russell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fulton Cemetery where she will be laid to eternal rest next to her beloved husband Dutch.
