WARSAW — Beauty was bountiful at Warsaw’s October First Friday celebration Friday, Oct. 2. The event, titled “Art-tober” offered guests a variety of ways to let their artistic sides out, or just simply enjoy the talent of others.
The very well attended event celebrated all that was fall while blending the beauty of nature with man-made art as well. Artist, and artist-hopefuls, were invited to not only browse wares for sale, but to become an artist as well.
Orthoworx provided opportunities for guests to create ornaments themed on diversity, allowing guests to research the origin of their last names. These will be on display in the Kosciusko County Courthouse in November on a “nationality tree”.
Warsaw Community High School art students and teachers were on scene to not only provide artwork, but to work with members of the community on creating their own masterpieces.
Music began at the center stage at 6 p.m. with the musical stylings of Indiana Band Mercy Triumphs.
Next month at November’s First Friday guest will be able to participate in a big chili cook-off and are asked to get their recipes ready. In addition, everyone is advised to be on the watch for the annual Twinkle Light Parade in December.
October’s First Friday was brought to you by the Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation and the city of Warsaw.
