NORTHEAST INDIANA — Applicants can pre-apply for a position with the Indiana Department of Transportation prior to a career fair scheduled for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Elkhart subdistrict, 58905 C.R. 9, Elkhart.

Interested candidates can apply online using the job ID: 598948, “Fort Wayne – Elkhart Sub District Career Fair.”

INDOT will conduct individual interviews onsite for a variety of positions within the Elkhart subdistrict area, including Elkhart, Goshen, New Paris, Warsaw, LaGrange and Shipshewana. Electronic application assistance will be available.

The following entry- to supervisor-level positions are being interviewed:

• Highway Technicians
• Mechanics
• Maintenance Technicians
• Heavy Equipment Operators
• Seasonal Winter Positions

To be considered for employment, applicants must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to successfully pass a drug screen.

Candidates should bring the following to the event:

• An updated resume
• Commercial Driver’s License and current medical examiner’s certificate (if possessed)
• An original or copy of high school diploma or equivalent
