NILES, Mich. — Apples are in abundance in Michigan, especially at the Four Flags Area Apple Festival in Niles.

It starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.

There are carnival rides, food vendors, arts and crafts, a parade, contests, free entertainment and more.

This year they are selling shirts that say “Festival Salutes our Troops” and would like to see everyone on the parade route wearing them. They cost $15 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to benefit area veterans.
