AKRON – The Lakeland Christian Academy soccer team was so close to notching its first win of the season on Saturday.

The Cougars took a 2-0 lead before host Tippecanoe Valley rallied in the second half to edge LCA by a 3-2 final.

Sophomore Garrett McCoomb gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the opening half, off an assist from junior Cross Williams. The Cougars took a 2-0 halftime lead on a goal by Williams.

The Vikings tallied three second-half goals to earn the win.

LCA, now 0-14, will play at Culver Academies Tuesday evening.
