Winamac Topples Trojans
WINAMAC – The Triton football team dropped a 43-12 final at Winamac Friday night.
The host Warriors took a 22-6 lead after the opening period of play en route to the Hoosier Athletic Conference win.
Winamac improves to 4-2 overall and is also 4-2 in league play. Triton, which has now lost five in a row, falls to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in conference action.
Jeremy Jones was the offensive highlight for the Trojans. The running back had 21 carries for 106 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown run.
Masen Yeo caught a touchdown pass from Jordan Anderson for the first Triton score.
Winamac outgained the Trojans 394-143 in total yards as the hosts rushed for 317 yards in the victory.
Matt Shorter led the winners with 22 carries for 200 yards and two touchdowns.
Triton hosts North Judson (5-1, 4-1) and Winamac plays at West Central (0-6, 0-6) in conference action next Friday night. North Judson beat West Central 58-0 Friday night.
