WABASH – The Whitko football team suffered a heartbreaking loss Friday evening.

Southwood only gained 161 yards of total offense to Whitko’s 411, but that didn’t stop the Knights from squeaking out a 21-20 victory.

Carson Blair threw for 181 yards and two scores to help lead the Southwood offensive attack, the Knights accumulated -20 rushing yards for the game.

Whitko’s Garrett Elder was the offensive star of the game as he scored three times as product of 188 rushing yards. Whitko killed itself with four turnovers and 12 penalties, tallying 92 yards.

With the loss Whitko falls to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the Three Rivers Conference. The Wildcats will host Manchester next week.
