Joan Welborn Zent, 85, of Millers Merry Manor of Warsaw, and formerly of Mentone, passed at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at her residence.

She was born on April 24, 1930, in Marshall County, to Ernest and Inez (Williams) Honegger. She married on May 15, 1949, in Bremen, to Everett W. Welborn, he preceded on Jan. 8, 2000. She then married on Nov. 19, 2005, in Mentone, to Kermit M. Zent, he preceded on May 26, 2007. Joan had several siblings. She was a Bourbon High School graduate. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mentone, Indiana. She enjoyed shopping and cooking and also loved to travel and spend time with her grandkids.

Joan is survived by her sons: Ernie (Bonnie) Welborn, Big Bend, Wis.; Gary L. (Sharon) Welborn, Bourbon; four grandchildren: Brent; Kristin; Amy; and Alissa; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters: Susie Nellans; Sherry Flenar. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and a son: Phillip Welborn.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with services beginning at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home. Pastor Michael Wilhite will officiate, and burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.
