Phyllis A. BodinePhyllis A. Bodine, 86, of Columbia City, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Renaissance Village in Fort Wayne. Born July 27, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio she was the daughter of Charles M. Wiseman, Sr. and Ruby L. (Knotts) Wiseman.

She has been a Whitley County resident since 2009, moving from Lake James and was a previous Michigan resident. She graduated from Monroe High School in Monroe, Mich. with the Class of 1947. On June 12, 1948 she married Lowell B. Bodine in Maybee, Mich. She worked at Lazy Boy Chair Company in Monroe, retiring in April of 1988 with 11 years of service. Phyllis had been a member of the Maybee Congregational Church.

Survivors include daughter: Barbara (Steve) Gross, Columbia City, son: David Bodine, Grayling, Mich.; sister: Shirley Barron, Newport, Mich.; grandchildren: Natalie (Steve) Kohrman, Fort Wayne; and Joel (Kate) Patterson, Leesburg, Va.; and seven great-grandchildren: Sarah; Jason; Elisabeth; Cecilia; Teresa; Isaac; and Leo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lowell Bodine; brothers: Joe Wiseman; Charles Wiseman Jr.; Guy Wiseman; and Dael Wiseman; and sisters: Betty Scott; and Bonnie Wiseman.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Faucett officiating. Burial will follow at Union Township Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorial gifts may be given in her memory to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
