
MENTONE — Seth Hamman, 31, 4395 S. Lakesore Drive, Mentone, found himself back in jail on charges of domestic battery, and facing a new charge of possession of two or more chemical reagents or precursors with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, a level 6 felony.
Hamman was arrested Tuesday, and held on $15,000 surety and $500 cash bond.
The level 6 felony, filed against Hamman on Aug. 6, states police observed the 31-year-old purchase pseudoephedrine at one store on June 26, then drive to another store, this time having a juvenile male purchase lithium batteries.
Police stopped Hamman after he failed to use a turn signal on several occasions. During the traffic stop police observed a female and three children, including the juvenile who had purchased the batteries, in the vehicle. An outer search of the vehicle was made by a K-9 officer, which alerted police to the presence of lighter fuel. The pseudoephedrine pills and lithium batters were also located.
Hamman told police he had asked the juvenile to purchase the batteries and admitted purchasing precursors so he could trade the items for methamphetamine. Police also found between July 8, 2014 and June 26, 2015, Hamman had purchased pseudoephedrine 19 times and was blocked three times from any purchases.
Failure To Appear
The second charge against Hamman, that of domestic battery, is based court documents that he failed to appear for a court hearing on July 17.
Court documents stated he intentionally failed to appear at the time and place ordered by the courts, after being released from lawful detention.
