GOSHEN— Goshen College has announced it has withdrawn from the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities. The move comes after the college’s recent decision to allow the hiring of married gay and lesbian faculty and staff as part of their LGBT non-discrimination policy and hiring practices.

The Council of Christian Colleges and several CCCU institutions have expressed concerns about the school’s decision. The council is an international association of Christian institutions of higher education and has about 120 members.
