Katherine Fay WallaceKatherine Fay Wallace of Greenwood, and formerly of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at Porter Memorial Hospital of Valparaiso, at the age of 32.

She was a 2001 graduate of Warsaw High School in Warsaw. In 2005 she received her degree in Social Work from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. Katherine had worked at the Bowen Center in Columbia City, Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne as well as at Your Friends and Neighbors Group Home in Fort Wayne. She had worked and lived in Kosciusko County, Allen County, in Johnson County for one and one half years and in Marion, for a year. She attended Vineyard Community Church in Greenwood and was always keeping busy. Some may remember her smiling face when she worked as a Sales Associate for Walgreens in Greenwood. Katherine really enjoyed helping others and she especially loved her animals.

She was born on May 13, 1983, in Rochester, to Walter George Wallace and Jill Marie (Bitterling) Wallace, who both survive in Warsaw.

Katherine will be lovingly remembered by her parents; her sister: Elizabeth Rae Wallace, Greenwood. She also leaves behind her maternal grandmother: Bernice Bitterling, Rochester; paternal grandmother: Glenna Wallace, Big Rapids, Mich.; and will be missed by countless friends and her dog: Darla; and her cat: Mr. Bojangles.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: John and Jean Wallace.

A memorial service to celebrate Katherine’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. Friends will have time to visit with the family prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, Pierceton, and would be appreciated by her family.
