C. Jean Myers, 64, of Georgetown, Ill., transferred peacefully to heaven at 10:14 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at her home in Georgetown. She was born Dec. 15, 1950, in Akron, Ohio to John and Ruthella (Lawrence) Ruth.
Jean received her associates degree from Indiana Business College. She married John K. Myers in Marion, on June 9, 1973. She was a homemaker and a pastor’s wife. Jean was a member of the Dewart Lake Community Friends Church in Syracuse. She enjoyed being with people, and making memories with her grandchildren Preston and Paige Ritzema.
She is survived by her husband: John K. Myers, Georgetown; daughter: Jennifer “Jenny” (Dan) Ritzema; and two grandchildren: Preston Ritzema; and Paige Ritzema, all of Wabash; sister: Nancy (Chuck) Boggs-Rhoades, Mechanicsville, Va.; and her brother: Johnny (Joni) Ruth, Madison, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepparents: Marshall Boggs; Juanita Ruth; and her sister: Belinda Knight.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Wabash Friends Church, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash.
