Janet Ann Hofer, Warsaw, went home to be with the Lord at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Parkview Whitley Hospital of Columbia City, at the age of 51.
She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where she attended Warsaw Community Church for many years. Janet was a 1982 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School and a 1986 graduate of Wabash Beauty College. She was also a local real estate agent. She cherished her family and time spent together, especially family vacations. Janet will always be remembered for her vibrant personality and contagious laughter.
She was born on July 18, 1964 in Warsaw, Indiana to Harold Long and Clarabell (Taylor) Long. On Oct. 27, 1984 she was married to Tim Hofer, who survives in Warsaw.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her three sons: TJ Hofer, Warsaw; Caleb Hofer Warsaw; Jonathan Hofer, Warsaw; and her daughter: Amanda (Riley) Boyer, Warsaw. Also surviving are two brothers: Gary (Kim) Long, Etna Green; Tom (Deb) Long, Bourbon; two sisters: Peggy (Dave) Arnold, Warsaw; Teresa (Rob) Zurcher, North Webster; mother-in-law: Dorothy (Craig) Walters, Warsaw; two sisters-in-law: TyAnn (Alan) Walker, Warsaw; Peggy (Larry) Baker, North Webster; and her brother-in-law: David (Fatima) Hofer, North Manchester. Janet was a very special aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her father-in-law Leon Hofer.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Her funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home and officiated by Pastor Jerry Lloyd a lifelong family friend. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
