WARSAW — In honor of Pet Adoption Day, the Animal Welfare League spent Saturday, Sept. 19 out at Tractor Supply Company, offering dogs and cats for adoption from the shelter. Tractor Supply Company provided hot dogs, condiments, cold drinks and even some sale items in honor of the day.

The AWL had cats and dogs available to view and interact with, and hopefully, to help find their new “furever” home.

The AWL animals are healthy, have all their shots, are spayed/neutered, come with a free vet visit, have their rabies shots and dogs are already microchipped for the new owner’s convenience and the protection of the pet.

Anyone who adopted a pet today also got a free “pet adoption kit,” stuffed with bones, dog food and more.

One Dog At A Time Rescue, another rescue shelter based in Warsaw, was also at Tractor Supply for the national holiday.

“We are just trying to get the animals out of the shelter,” said Volunteer Coordinator Martha Whetstone. “We want them to get to their ‘furever’ homes.”
