Cause Of Silver Lake Fire Undetermined

Silver-Lake-Fire-Semi

At 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, Silver Lake Fire Department responded to a fire located on CR 100W and CR 1200S, a shop owned by Swihart Trucking.

Upon arriving on scene, crews noted a semi was on fire within a pole barn structure. Firefighters worked until around midnight to put out the fire. However, crews were called back Wednesday evening at approximately 8 p.m. for a report of a rekindle.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Among the damages was the cab of a truck, one truck, miscellaneous items and a third of the building. Damages are estimated at approximately $200,000.

Laketon/Pleasant Township, North Manchester, Sydney, Claypool and Silver Lake emergency personnel responded to the scene.
