A driver who fell asleep while driving, suffered pain to the elbow/lower arm after his vehicle struck a utility pole early Wednesday, Sept. 16. The accident was reported at 6:32 a.m. on East Armstrong Road, west of North CR 450E, Leesburg.

Jarrod A. Wood, 22, South CR 50W, Churubusco, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by Lutheran EMS Kosciusko.

Wood told police he was westbound on Armstrong Road in his 2006 Ford F150 when he fell asleep. His truck went off the road breaking off a NIPSCO pole on the north side of the road.

Damage up to $10,000.
