Maxine A. SwygartMaxine A. Swygart, 99, of Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw, and formerly of Akron and Laketon passed at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.

She was born on Aug. 2, 1916, in Wabash, to Henry and Eliza (Rippe) Frankstine. Maxine was married on July 17, 1938, in Wabash, to Robert James Swygart who passed May 7, 1995. Maxine was a homemaker. She had been a member of the St. Mathews Church of Wabash in the earlier years. She was a member of the Jolly Janes Club of Laketon.

She is survived by her daughter: Marilyn (Charles) Miller, Akron; grandchildren: Sherri (Jeff) Johnson, Warsaw; Dr. Scott (Kelly) Miller, New Palestine; Brent (Jill) Swygart, Boston, Mass.; Dr. Mandy (Pat) Swygart-Hobaugh, Decatur, Ga.; Tonya Clark, Fort Wayne; Matt (Karen) Swygart, Battle Creek, Mich.; 10 great-grandchildren: Erin Tucker; Alyssa Moore; Carli Kaiser; Lauren Miller; Kara Miller; Ashley Crager; Austin Crager; Carson Clark; Ava Swygart; and Colette Swygart; step-great-grandson: Joshua Johnson; great-great-grandson: Maclain Tucker.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Steven Swygart; and Ronald E. Swygart; six brothers: Walter; Charles; Clarence; Melvin; Robert; and Loren; and two sisters: Esther and Betty.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, also at the funeral home, and officiated by Rev. David Eaton. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery, Laketon.
