NORTH MANCHESTER — Sheila Kennedy, a professor of law and policy in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, will speak about “Civic Literacy, Political Discourse and the Constitution” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in Cordier Auditorium on the North Manchester campus of Manchester University.

She will explore what today’s policy debates like religious freedom and same-sex marriage, reveal about the nature of civic literacy, political discourse and constitutional culture. The public is invited to the free event.

The annual MU Constitution Day lecture program commemorates Sept. 17, 1787, when delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution of the United States of America. The presentation is part of the Values, Ideas and the Arts series at the University.
