Ted M. Hill, 81, North Manchester, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

He was born in North Manchester on March 17, 1934, to Forrest W. and Mildred M. (Baker) Hill, both deceased. He married M. Faith Cripe on Aug. 4, 1956. She died April 1, 2013. Ted retired from Sears in 1991. He was in plant management for Sunbeam Appliance in Brownville, Texas, and was the foreman at Esse, in South Whitley, for ten years. He owned and managed a package liquor store in Orland for three years and worked for Pyramind Oil Company in North Manchester for 20 years.

Ted was a veteran of the US Army from 1954-1956, and was a member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester. He was also a member of : Member of Commemorative Air Force, Midland, Texas, American Legion, North Manchester, Moose Lodge, North Manchester, Elks Lodge, Rochester, Deming Lodge #88 F and A.M., North Manchester, Shrine Club, Fort Wayne, Scottish Rite, Fort Wayne.

He is survived by his son: Rex (Lauri Jo) Hill, Kingsport, Tenn.; four grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother: Lois (Long Achey) Hill; and one daughter: Cinda Gambill, in 2009.

Calling hours will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester. The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, also at the chapel, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Memorials may be made to Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester. Arrangements are handled by McKee Mortuary.
