WHITLEY COUNTY — An Indianapolis woman has died as a result of injuries in an accident at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 27, in Whitley County.

The accident occurred on CR 750N and CR 550W.

Whitley County Sheriff’s Department reports Barbara G. Steinsberger, 82, Indianapolis, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by John C. Doll, 50, Leesburg. Doll stated he was traveling east on CR 750N, in the area of CR 550W, when his 2009 Toyota ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

The vehicle caught fire and was fully engulfed in flames.

Doll suffered neck and legs injuries and was taken to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
