AKRON – Sparked by a singles sweep, the Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team downed John Glenn by a 4-1 count Monday evening.

Trevor Neeley led the way for the winners with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.

Keith Wright rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles for the Vikings. Nick Caudill completed the sweep as he won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles play.

The No. 2 doubles tandem of Parker Dalrymple and Chris Schipper rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win for Valley.

Glenn’s lone point came at No. 1 doubles as Mike Machnic and Zac Mago topped Dakota Parker and Seth Hoffman.

Winners in junior varsity singles play for Valley were Eric Wright, Chris Schipper, Alex Kromkowski and Keegan Larimer.

Volleyball Team Collects A Win

The Valley volleyball team topped Marion 3-1 Monday night.

Sophie Bussard had nine digs and two blocks as coach Mallory Eaton’s team posted a 25-21, 18-25, 25-16, 26-14 win.

Abby Betten slammed 12 kills to power the winning offense. Lexi O’Connell had three aces and Madison Henninger 17 assists for the winners.

Valley lost the junior varsity match in two games.

Valley, now 2-1, plays at Winamac Tuesday evening.
