Warriors Move To 2-0 On Court
LAGRANGE – There was no let down from the Wawasee boys tennis team after Monday’s season-opening win over Manchester. The Warriors traveled to Lakeland on Wednesday night and stuck with the trend of winning by way of a 4-1 decision over the host Lakers.
Nate Haines did work on the No. 1 singles court with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Nate Perek and Cameron Brill followed suit at No. 2 and No. 3 singles with 6-4, 7-5 and 6-0, 6-1 victories, respectively.
Cal Heinisch and Tim Conley took a 7-6, 6-2 loss at No. 1 doubles but Dylan Staley and Evan Krueger escaped with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
Wawasee (2-0) will look to continue its hot start when it hosts Plymouth Thursday evening.
In the JV match it was Wawasee (1-0) claiming a 2-1 win. Trevor Haessig enjoyed an 8-0 win at No. 2 singles while Hawkins Ragland and Mason Gray scored an 8-6 win a No. 1 doubles.
