NORTH WEBSTER — Mark your calendars and save the date for the North Webster Cemetery Walk from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.

The North Webster Library will conduct guided walking tours through the nearby North Webster Cemetery. Costumed enactors will be stationed throughout the cemetery portraying individuals buried there, telling their life stories and recounting local history. This is a living history event that draws hundreds of visitors each year. It’s free and open to the public. You won’t want to miss it.

Voyager Book Club

Have you read a good book while at the beach or relaxing on the lake? Bring it to Voyager Book Club 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, and share what you have read. As summer winds down, this month’s genre is “beach read” books. Meeting the fourth Monday each month, Voyager is a different kind of book club in that everyone chooses their own book to read within the assigned genre. It’s a great way to explore various genres and discover new books and authors. In September, the club will focus on fantasy books.

Revolving Recipe Round-Up is a great way to discover new recipes. This group meets at 5:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday each month. Each month highlights a specific type of food with everyone bringing a dish to share along with the recipe. This Tuesday, Aug. 25, the focus will be salads, so bring your favorite salad or try out a new recipe on us. The library supplies the table service and free coffee and bottled water.

Free Movie Night

Treat the family to a free night at the movies at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. The library will show a PG-rated film about two kids and a trusty dog who set out on an adventure of a lifetime searching for a forgotten gold mine and find a pair of crooks hiding out from the police. Even the popcorn is free and you are welcome to bring your own beverages.

The North Webster Hiking Club will enjoy free entertainment following their hike Friday evening, Aug. 28. Hikers will meet at the library at 5:30 p.m. and carpool to Wildwood Nature Preserve near Silver Lake. After the hike, the group will stay for a free blue grass concert by Dr. Dave Hick and the Matchsellers. So join us for a hike, a concert, and fun.

Now that the kids are back in school, enjoy a little “me” time at the library. Use our free Wi-Fi or public computers to browse the internet, settle back on the comfy couch to read a magazine or newspaper, take a class, check out some books, or visit with friends.

You can always find something to do at the library.  Remember your Evergreen library card can be used at other Evergreen libraries in the area and throughout the state.
