WABASH –  The Tippecanoe Valley girls golf team dropped a close match to host Northfield Thursday evening.

Northfield shot a team score of 225 to edge past the Vikings, who finished at 228.

Liz VanMeter led the way for Valley as she earned individual medalist honors with a 49 in action at the Honeywell Golf Course.

Victoria Biddle finished with a 54 and Blake McBrier a 60 for Valley. Makayla Sandbakken shot a 65, while Jade VanMeter had a 69 and Lexi Cumberland a 70.

Valley, now 2-3, will face Wabash and Warsaw back at the Honeywell course on Aug. 20.
