IDOE Releases State Graduation Rates For 2014

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Education published its data regarding school district graduation rates across the state Tuesday, Aug. 11.

The IDOE collects many data samples from the Hoosier student population but graduation rates are considered one of the top benchmarks of success for schools. The rankings are based on data from students who passed state-mandated exams and earned a high school diploma in 2014.

Top 11 schools in the state and percentage of students who graduated:

  • Orleans Community Schools (Orleans) – 98.6 percent
  • The Indiana Academy for Science, Math and Humanities (Muncie) – 98.6 percent
  • Bloomfield School District (Bloomfield) – 98.5 percent
  • Northwestern School Corporation (Kokomo) – 98.5 percent
  • Metropolitan School District of Boone Township (Hebron) – 97.4 percent
  • Lanesville Community School Corporation (Lanesville) – 97 percent
  • West Lafayette Community School Corporation (West Lafayette) – 96.9 percent
  • Eastern Howard School Corporation (Greentown) – 96.6 percent
  • Westfield-Washington Schools (Westfield) – 96.5 percent
  • Carmel Clay Schools (Carmel) – 96.4 percent
  • Yorktown Community Schools (Yorktown) – 96.4 percent

Bottom 10 schools in the state and percentage of students who graduated:

  • Cannelton City Schools (Cannelton) – 52 percent
  • Caston School Corporation (Fulton) – 61.3 percent
  • Central Noble Community School Corporation (Albion) – 64.3 percent
  • Indianapolis Public Schools (Indianapolis) – 66.5 percent
  • Medora Community School Corporation (Medora) – 66.7 percent
  • South Bend Community School Corporation (South Bend) – 67.1 percent
  • River Forest Community School Corporation (Hobart) – 67.6 percent
  • Union School Corporation (Modoc) – 68.2 percent
  • Gary Community School Corporation (Gary) – 70.2 percent
  • School City of Hammond (Hammond) – 70.8 percent
