Gerald  “J.D.” Lee Davis, 70, of Lakeville, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at his home. He was born on Dec. 16, 1944, in South Bend, to the late Vaughn E. and Della K. (Smith) Davis. He was united in marriage on May 1, 1961, in South Bend, to Sally Ilene Mikel who preceded him in death on March 7, 2001.

Jerry is survived by his daughter: Julianna Beth (Brad) Whiteman, Lakeville; four sons: Douglas Lee Davis, Warsaw; William Glenn (Tina) Davis, Lakeville; Steven Bret Davis, Plymouth; and John Brendan Davis, South Bend; seven grandsons and seven granddaughters; six great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; two sisters: Nancy A. (Gifford) Torbenson, South Bend; and Patricia J. (Race) Hickman, Lakeville; one brother: William (Deborah) Davis, Plymouth; and special niece: Priscilla Jane Price, South Bend. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Ally Marie Davis, on Nov. 22, 1994, and an infant brother: William G. Davis.

Jerry was a lifelong area resident. He was the co-founder of Lake City Heat Treating Corporation in Warsaw.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend. His son, John B. Davis, will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, in the funeral home.
