SYRACUSE – Wawasee had no trouble Wednesday in defeating a pair of backyard rivals. Shooting a 175, Wawasee easily distanced itself from Whitko (236) and host West Noble (238) at South Shore Golf Club.

Kylee Rostochak led the way for the Lady Warriors with a 40, her top round of the young season. Madison Beaman finished at 42, followed by Aubrey Schmeltz at 45, Kamryn Foy at 48 and Mikala Mawhorter at 51.

Whitko was led by Holly Hathaway’s 53. Claire Reiff shot a 56, Alexis Rider at 63, Aurelia Slusher at 64 and Makayla Compton at 83.

West Noble had a fine round from Paige Shearer at 42, but fell back with a 60 from Audrey Fulford, 66 from Sarah Buchanan, 70 from Natalie Haferty and 73 from Lauren Barnes.

Wawasee (5-0) will host the Wawasee Invitational this Saturday at South Shore.
