Roy A. Miller, 72, passed away with his family by his side in the Elkhart Hospice House on Friday morning July 24, 2015.
Roy was born in Hammond on Aug. 21, 1942, to Eli E. and Lillian Bernice (Bixel) Miller. He graduated from LaPaz High School with the class of 1960.
On Sept. 29, 1962, in the County Line Brethren Church in Lakeville, Roy took to be his bride, Kay E. Hummel. The couple are current members of the church.
Roy was a lifetime farmer. He also worked construction and for Agri-labs. After retirement, Roy and Kay spent their winters in Florida. He loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing trips were his favorites. Roy also enjoyed memories made and time spent with his family.
Roy is survived by his wife of 52 years: Kay, Plymouth; their two children: David A. (Marilyn DeClark) Miller, Mishawaka; and Susan K. (Jeffery) Peterson, SOuth Bend; granddaughters: Stephanie Peterson; Jessica Peterson; and Lindsey Miller; his sister-in-law: Liz Miller, Plymouth; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Arthur W. Miller.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 27, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, in the County Line Brethren Church, Lakeville, with Pastor Wyatt Smith officiating. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will be in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
