Martin “Mike” H. Niere, 49, of Plymouth, passed away in his own home after a short and unsparing battle with cancer on Friday, July 24, 2015.
Martin was born July 13, 1966, the son of Bill and Wanda (Lawrence) Niere, both deceased. On June 22, 1991, Martin wed Irma Ruiz and lived a happy, fulfilling life with their daughter, Kristina, until his death by their side.
Martin enjoyed the music of John Cougar Mellencamp, Indianapolis Colts football, and the fun times and good food he shared with his family, friends, and co-workers. He was a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and much more to many people whose memories he will forever live in.
Martin is survived by his wife: Irma; daughter: Kristina (Tom) Santoyo, Portage; sister: Willet (Larry) Hooten, New Carlisle; his father and mother-in-law: Ralph and Alice Ruiz, Plymouth; sister and brother-in-laws: Irene and John Kelley; and Edward Ruiz; nieces: Katelyn Hooten; Brooklyn Kelley; and Gabriella Ruiz; and nephews: Dillon Hooten; and Aiden Ruiz.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, in the funeral home with one hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Kidney Cancer Association.
