The Lakeland Eagles Club of Syracuse concluded their 2015 People Helping People philanthropy campaign with a celebration and presentation of checks on Saturday evening.

During the campaign, the Eagles raised $16,586 through a variety of fundraisers, including the Bullet Bob Niles golf outing held earlier this year at South Shore Golf Club.

Of the money raised, the local group donated half to the Indiana state Eagles Club in support of their fundraising projects. Locally, the Eagles contributed a total of $6,000 to 10 local non-profit groups. Recipients of $500 donations included the public libraries in Milford, North Webster and Syracuse; Harvest With a Heart food pantry, North Webster Food pantry and Syracuse Food Pantry; and the fire departments in Milford, North Webster and Syracuse. The Eagles also contributed $1,500 to the Wawasee Community Youth League.

Lizards Bar and Grill in Milford was recognized as the “Sponsor of the Year” for their efforts in raising $2,500 for the People Helping People project.
